KAL Band is urban Romani band from Belgrade suburbs. Music style that this band have created western critics call Rock’n”Roma which probably the best reflects their music. From 2006, when they started their career, to the present, the band has played over 400 concerts. The band has performed at the most important local, Europe and world festivals and achieved a remarkable career in Europe. It is quite enough to say that they have played on festivals such as Roskilde in Denmark, Fusion Festival in Berlin, Pepsi Sziget Festival in Budapest and local EXIT Festival.
The band visited the USA in 2006. and in 2008. when has toured the most important clubs such as Joe’s pub in New York where the most significant world musicians, like Leonard Cohen, David Byrne, Richard Thompson, Dolly Parton, Sinead O’Connor, Norah Jones, Youssou N’Dour, David Gilmore had their performances. On its USA 2008. tour, where they played 45 concerts, the band has realized a cooperation with Gogoll Bordell, one of New York's most famous music attractions, who had played, among other things, with Madonna on Global Warming in London.
The producer of both their albums is Mike Nielsen, known for cooperation with the greatest the world's greatest music attractions such as: Underworld, Snow Patroll, The Cure, Jamiroquai, Snow Patroll, etc. (Read more...)
