Dragan Ristic was born on 09. September 1972. in Valjevo. He graduated on the Faculty of Drama Arts, University of Belgrade, Department of Management and Theatre Production, Radio and Culture. He graduated at the same University a Master degree on Theory of drama art and media in 1999. He is a founder of KAL Band, recognizable by musical style Rock’n’Roma, where he appears as lead singer and guitarist. In addition to many years of musical engagement and participation in numerous music festivals in the country and abroad, he was engaged in film and theater as a producer, actor, and composer – Emir Kusturica film Black Cat, White Cat (translation and music), Romani Theatre Raidna from Belgrade, Romani Theatre Vareso Aver from Budapest (a play Jacques, or obedience – Eugene Ionesco, Blood Wedding – Federico Garcia Lorca). He has been a director of Romani Cultural Centre in Belgrade since 1998. He also worked for Radio Belgrade – a program in the Romani language as a journalist, editor and translator. He published the books Roma media in Yugoslavia: Development and Opportunities (1997) and History of the Romani Theater (1999). As coordinator of Romani language, he held praxis in the European Romani Rights Centre (ERRC). He speaks English and Romani, and has a basic knowledge of the Hungarian language.
